help with my 05 freelander 1.8 litre petrol

Ah.. I was not told what the sensors actually did or controlled. I was shown the static reading of the 2nd sensor on the diagnostic equipment when it was connected to the car and as the tickover settled down a bit after I changed the sensor I presumed (as I said in my 1st post) that changing the...

How constant is 'pretty constant' the one on ours was not fluctuating at all, at any engine speed. As I said once I fitted the new sensor it ran better and no longer cut out on us. If the 2nd sensor is giving an incorrect reading would the engine management system adjust the fuelling etc to try...

help with my 05 freelander 1.8 litre petrol

Hi Chris Had a 1.8 FL that would cut out ocassionlly, would also sometimes 'hunt' slightly on tickover. eventually a mechanic noticed that diagnostics showed the second lamda sensor giving a very constant reading (1st sensor reading was fluctuating normally) Tickover hunting was being caused by...

    does a 90 bumper fit a s3 88

I fitted a military 90 front bumber, the one with the central towing point, to my SIII with a small mod to the bumber. Using a 4" grinder I cut 2 short slots either side of each mounting bracket on the underside of the bumber to allow the front spring hangers to slot into. Other than that...

this dunt look right to me !!!

Wasn't there a cutoff date after which the points system came in in which if too much of the orginal vechicle had been changed it lost it's original reg, was reregistered on a Q plate and in the case of pre 72 vechicles, lost the tax exemption. As this is advertised as an unfinnished project...

    TD4 Headgasket....?

Only prob i've experianced with a td4 losing coolant was a slight but steady drop in coolant level, finaly traced to the water pump housing o ring weeping, from memory located at back of engine on drivers side. look for deposits left when coolant/antifreeze evaporates.

I have a 1984 A reg. 88" that I think might have been ex coastguard, (the one in my avatar) underneath the brown paint it is the same blue as yours. What have you done to your Landie today.

Replaced the worn anti-roll bar link on Mrs Anybody's freelander today, hopefully that will stop the clunking noise that she has been complaning about, through how she can hear anything above the radio is beyond me:confused:
