Discovey 4 sdv6 glow plug issues

Had the exact same issue on the wife's D4 a couple of months ago. This earth strap sits directly between the battery box and the Webasto heater. Cleaned it up and the car burst into life. No prior symptoms or warnings that we were aware of, just one morning it wouldn't even attempt to crank...

Land Rover Discovery 4 restricted performance

I would always bow to the knowledge of Graculus on this stuff but if I may, I'll chuck in my tuppence-worth from both his and the OP posts. If that DTC can be set by a charge air leak, I'd definitely be looking seriously at that first as you have a "DPF differential pressure too high" fault...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I doubt JLR make them but their purchasing department will have found the "best possible price". Plenty on eBay of OE quality I'm sure. It's too dark and rainy to go and count them but I think I need 12 for my car, they are of course sold in packs of 5, 10, 20, 30.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

They are steel screws with the consistency of a warm brie and they screw into plastic. Most of mine have been slotted by a previous owner/garage. So glad to have the part number now and I can order a full set of them. Bet they're. a bargain too!

    L322 AFS Headlight retrofit?

2011 L322 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Do any of you know if it's a simple retrofit to put the AFS lights in a non AFS car? I need to put new lenses on my lights as they are starting to look a bit ropey and I did it on my last one which just made it look so much better. It's a ball-ache as the 2010> cars...

    L322 TD6 Locked.

The plastic cover does prise off the left side door handle. I've always wondered why it is on the left side though, is it because it's a British car and as a treat for the driver there's not monogram for the lock on the driver's cap to keep things a bit smoother or is it an inconvenience as you...

L322 Front and rear windscreen heaters not working

If you want to test the rear one quickly, you can take a multimeter and test continuity across the screen from each side and then measure the voltage at the screen. For the rear, you don't need to strip anything down, just put the probe on the heater element on the passenger (left side of the...

    Gearbox service

I used Dartford Transmissions when I had mine done. It was at the peak of the fuel/oil prices at about £585 all in. They did a flush on it too so you end up throwing away about 3l oil once you've run it up and then dropped the pan to change the filter. That was a ZF6 and a couple of years...

    L322 Turbo Actuator stuck?

When I replaced mine I bought them from LR, Couldn't find a set of silicone ones in black for the 3.6 but I thought they were very reasonable at about £106 for the pair from the dealer. Yous should be all good for a while now.

    L322 Turbo Actuator stuck?

If it's a 3.6 they are parallel, the 4.4 has a sequential setup.

    L322 Turbo Actuator stuck?

Or a split manifold. What is the rest of the of error on P023D? Is it a boost correlation issue? That will be different to the 4.4 as the 3.6 runs the turbos in parallel not sequential so there's a different algorithm for it.

    L322 Battery Drain

Do you need to code the increased battery size on a 2004? Not sure if it has BMS at that age, if it does though that could go some way to explaining why the batteries aren't lasting couldn't it? I expect the car is too old but perhaps someone with knowledge on the earlier ones could weigh-in...

    L322 Battery Drain

We do get pedantic about the "petrol" thing though. It's petroleum spirit and it's a liquid so calling it Gas just seems wrong to us :) Opens popcorn to watch the debate from here... Already regrets mentioning that!

    L322 Battery Drain

Post #1 first line says 2004 HSE. That'll be a 2004 HSE L322 then. Not sure what difference it would make to any of us if it were petrol or diesel but as the OP said he's in Massachusetts I'd suggest it very unlikely to be a diesel leaving us with the most likely option of the 4.4 Petrol V8...

    L322 Battery Drain

What was it charging at? A friend of mine had an alternator that had a failing rectifier in it, it would show as charging at around 14.4v and then spike to almost 20v every so often. It's probably worth checking that you're getting a consistent voltage when idling and get someone to rev the...

    L322 Battery Drain

The Autozone guy has never seen an alternator then! There has to be something wrong with your battery here though. If you drove it for that time and it's charging correctly you'd have to have the biggest current draw to kill it in the time you were in the shop! At rate of discharge you...

    L322 2011 L322 Xenon headlights not moving

Neither of my facelift Vogues have had this feature but the 2008 Vogue SE did. The SE would adjust the lights up and down, then go slightly cross-eyed, it was quite cool I guess. Never noticed the difference in normal driving though.

    L322 Battery Drain

I don't know if I am reading this correctly so forgive me if I am missing something here but I'm wondering about your test conditions on the battery drain. The later L322s are brutal on the battery due to the number of things that liven up when you unlock and open the car so I expect you'll see...

    L322 TD6 lost all drive

It does rather sound like the gearbox has failed. I've heard they are the weakest of them with the 5 speed. My only experience similar was with an Old Ford Scorpio that drove seemingly perfectly all the way to work one morning (around an hour and 35 miles), went to reverse into a parking space...

Disco 4 (LR4) Fuel guage issue

Thought I'd better update this thread to explain what happened here. After removing the tank and checking all of the connections, sender operation and wiring back to the the Body Control Module and being unable to find a fault, we considered replacing the BCM. Whilst having GapIID plugged in...
