As many have said, the new battery needs to be 950CCA or more and 120AH

Do you need to code the increased battery size on a 2004? Not sure if it has BMS at that age, if it does though that could go some way to explaining why the batteries aren't lasting couldn't it? I expect the car is too old but perhaps someone with knowledge on the earlier ones could weigh-in on that front.
AB in my handle is Alberta, land of the block heater. L322 battery is H9, which WalMart doesn't sell. The H8 AGM is 900CCA ($179 I think). If I had a choice at or near the same price, with a 4 year replacement warranty, I'd have H9. I found H9's were nearly twice the price, pro-rated warranty. AGM delivers high voltage over longer than conventional wet cell batteries and charges faster. I'd expect reliable starting to 0*F. on the BMW 4.4 from my 2002 MB E320 experience. My 2007 MB GL450 $2000. mini dollar+$500. variable cam junker? It has no block heater, fires on first cylinder at -40* on an H6 . Such is progress.
Keep your receipt! I paper clip mine to my insurance card. Generally no receipt, no warranty as you need to return it to the retailer where you purchased. Did you find a reasonable price on 950CCA? Is it AGM? Happy trails! I'm waiting for an LCM, delivery today. Thanks for the help on the site, gentlemen!
Yea its an interstate 950CCA 100 ah. Ive looked all around and I couldn’t find anything higher. 279 dollars and yes its an AGM. I talked to some guy in Massachusetts and he said he only had a 900CCA akd worked just fine. So we will see. I liked the 3 year warranty on it as well.
