Fuel tank leak-part no longer made?

The part is no longer made I am told, the dealer was only able to tell me that and said I'm on my own regards how I fix it.... I won't fit a 10 year old second hand rubber pipe, that's asking for tears. A tank full of diesel is too much to lose... The main dealer didn't offer any solutions but...

Fuel tank leak-part no longer made?

I had a leak on my fuel tank a while back, it stopped when I added some jubilee clips to the flexible joint between the tank and the filler neck. However, it leaked again so I took it off today and found a tiny split it the seam of the rubber hose. Main stealers say this part is no longer made...

    Leak from tank filler neck

Ah, that's what I wanted to know! Thanks. Is there then some sort of sealant I can use to stop it leaking again?

    desperate help with part

Looks like the outer button will unclip, use any new switch body then! I can see four wires, is the switch illuminated? If so it may simply be an on off switch or a mommentry, does it latch in when pushed or just bounce out again? Any switch with the same action will possibly work in it's place.

    Leak from tank filler neck

Bugger, my Hippo is now leaking diesel badly where the filler neck joins to the tank. The joint seems to be crimped so I can't tighten it up. How do I get this joint sealed up properly, is it a stealer only job or can garages re-seal these? :(

    Cenrtal locking door solonoids

Use a small length of rag and wrap it between door and handle, pull it up and down a couple of times and the clip pops out, I mean pops out so be ready to catch it!

    vcu and diff very hot?

My recon VCU and IRD ran hot when first fitted, after a couple of hundred miles they were fine.... I think matching the tyres is your best bet to start with.

    could this be welded?

Temp fix is a metal patch with gungum on it and strapped to the offending hole with wire twisted off until tight. Don't waste money welding it, it's crap by now, save for a new one!

    Fuel tank leak

I just noticed my fual tank leaks if I park facing up hill. Had a good look and it's the union of the filler pipe to the tank. There appears to be some sort of crimped clips on it. What can I do to seal it up?

    Map reading lights

Mine failed recently, looked like a previous sunroof leak onto the PCB. It's a bugger to get the sticky pad off the pcb to check the tracks. I made a couple of 'jumper' cables to replace damaged track and also soldered the rivet connector to the board. Job done!

    Central locking issue??

There can be nothing wrong with the door locks if they open from the switch inside the car! OP try blipping the unlock on the remote several times to see if the locks are sticky. If not I suggest carefully checking the battery in the car, if the voltage is getting low electronics do weird...

    OBD Code readers

Recent threads about code readers have got me interested in obtaining one myself. Garage mate has an expensive SnapOn one which reads and resets codes on my 99 Diesel Hippo without problem. Can anyone tell me if the el cheapo PC based ones on ebay for 12/15 quid will work on my Landy? I don't...

Strange L series diesel starting problem

My Hippo diesel (L series not TD4) has a strange starting problem! It seems to let air in after an hour or so after turning off the engine and then when I start it again it starts like it has run out of fuel (rough as hell for a few seconds then ok). Checked all the usual suspects (timing, fuel...
