How boring other forums are compared to this one

If he does and sees this or someone points him here I have the EAS Kicker, the lower tailgate with all lights, just missing the lock button. Also have the tools and gauge to check and set the diesel pump timing. Also a set of 5 of the 6 injectors, and will have to look around as there might be...

How boring other forums are compared to this one

I used to be on here quite a bit when I had my old P38 and it was needed with the number of times things went wrong with it. I got rid of it and got a Hyundai Tucson around two and half years ago and joined that forum but there was never much going on. I have just changed car a couple of weeks...

Soon to be goodbye to the Rangie

It is now around two and half years since I got my Rangie and, with the help of this excellent forum, have found out lots about them and what goes wrong with them. Well now it has got to a point when I will be saying good bye to my Rangie, either part exing it or selling on a parts or repair...

    book symble

Mine had the book symbol on when I got it with a "compressor clutch" fault showing on an Autologic box. Checked the gas pressure which was down so refilled with gas, pressure back up and no book symbol again until I lost the gas pressure again.

    book symble

You say the hot air is working but what about the cooling side of the system (air con), have you tried to set it at the coldest setting and see if it is working? The book symbol on mine is on but I know it is lack of gas in the air con as I found when I tried to top it up again and found the...

    Trackrod ends

I had mine replaced last year following an advisory on the MOT, as they are not much cost I just had the full track rod changed.

    L322 Lower Mileage or Younger?

Yeah that could be a worry, as well as having to learn a foreign language to go down there.;)

    L322 Lower Mileage or Younger?

I am toying with the idea of getting rid of my 1998 P38 DSE and getting an L322 4.4 V8. Two that have caught my eye at the moment, one is a 2004 Vogue SE (think it should be an Autobiography) with 85,000 and the other a 2005 Vogue with 106,000. Used Land Rover Range Rover Suv 4.4 Vogue Se...

    Vogue SE - Towbar

If you are just going to tow a trailer or horse box then a single 12N will do you. The 13 pin connectors are for the newer style caravan connections and combine the 12N and 12S connectors into a single "more secure" type connector.

    Vogue SE - Towbar

Have a look at http://www.pfjones.co.uk/tow-bars/towbars-for-land-rovers/range-rover-towbars-en.html maybe a little cheaper for you

    Starter problems

Looks like those starters have been well and truly hit with something. When you took the first one out are you sure you managed to get all the bits of the case out and now the second one have you all that case out too? Would go with N5Fav as well and turn the engine slowly by hand and...

    Mystery Wobble

I would have a look at it pretty quick. My front prop went on me a couple of months ago, it was only 3 days between the vibration stating and it failing completely. The problem was the sliding joint on it failed and the flailing prop took out the XYZ switch on the side of the auto box.

Warning - Don't leave that vibration for a couple of days

It is a shock how quickly some things can take affect. Monday morning there was a slight knocking from the front of my P38 DSE, just as though a weight had come of a wheel. It was about due for replacing the front tyres so thought to leave it a couple of days until I got them replaced...

    Temp guage going weird

Well ye bugger!! Thank you Druim, it took quite a bit more coolant doing it this way and the temp gauge, once warmed up, sits just under half way on the middle marked section. Bring back the old days of filling it up via a cap on top of the radiator. ;) Funny thing was, I was going to...

    Temp guage going weird

Well changed the thermostat today, refilled with water and ran the engine until it warmed right up. Checked the pipes to the radiator and the passenger side one heated up first and got hot, then later on the drivers side one heated up as well. It seemed OK so started moving the car a few yards...

Thanks Wammers, will have a look and change them anyway.

    Temp guage going weird

I have a 1a998 DSE. After recently changing a coolant/ heater pipe at the rear of the engine, got it all working again but have noticed it was still loosing water somewhere. Cannot see any signs of a leak apart from it being "wet" at the front of the engine where the thermostat housing...
