    My mind had went straight to a possible valve issue, and trying to swap the injectors between cylinders, as you have already done. Then it was a thought of visually confirming the spray.     Delphi clone is cheap, if you can find it. I paid more for an old laptop to run the software on, that was £60 to about £40 at the time for the VCI hardware.

    I got one of those little electric oil pumps from Lidl and they're pretty good. Drains diesel and oil no bother.

    There's also a type like slip joint water-pump pliers which may fit in the space available. Hopefully that notch will be easily usable, though.
