Hey guys

Can anyone advise me where to start here... my heated seats are not functioning properly. The drivers side base heats to luke warm temps and the back rest doesn't heat at all. The passenger side seems not to heat at all - I’m unsure if they only activate once someone is sitting on it but I can’t notice any heat from that side when the max heat is selected. Both switches work and I’ve had them both on full heat and not managed to get any noticeable heat through the seats.
Any help would be appreciated.

The heat heater is controlled by the HVAC module, so the best thing is to read any codes stored in the memory first.

You'll need a multi-system code reader for this, but it's wise to get one anyway, as the FL2 is basically all controlled electronically.

Thank you. Have you got any recommendations?

It depends on budget. About the cheapest (~£90) stand alone (no PC required) is the Icarsoft I930, although it is limited to simple read/clear functions, it does seem to connect to every module on the FL2 (my 2008 SE has 17 modules:eek:). This is often all most owners need, as very few owners are prepared to replace injectors (need programming) and the like.
If more in depth functionality is needed, there's a host of other equipment, with pricing upwards of £300, but you'll need to research what functionality you need, and if it's worth paying for it.
I have lots of options, as I work on a variety of different vehicles, so need to cover lots of bases, within a sensible budget of course.
This is what I have.
I have a simple Bluetooth ELM327 dongle (about £7), which I use with the Torque Pro App (£3) on my a
Android Phone. This is good for most engine rated issues, but that's all, basically it dose OBD2 read faults and clearing faults from the engine management system.

More advanced but stand alone I have the I930 (£90), again read and clear, but on every module in the FL2.
More advanced again I have a Chinese clone of the Delphi diagnostic system (£15 + an old laptop), which will read/clear every module and code injectors too.
Finally I have a Gap Diagnostics IID BT (£400), which has some amazing functionality like modifications to the CCFs and stuff, but for the FL2, it's functionality isn't great, and unless you plan on getting a D3/4 later on, I don't think it's worth the high purchase price.
Hope this helps.
