    Gear sticks fall apart for fun, they break just at the pivot ball, Right as your on a busy intersection or on a roundabout!!. ive repaired mine with a welder and its strong as ever... How is your gear stick repaired?

    I use two of these, i welded a bit of plate to the bumper just for a bit more strength..then they simply bolt on, you can use them upside down as they have a spring retaining clip for your recovery strop.

    Thrust bearings worn? Also are you sure its not your diff?, sometimes the nut on the pinion(youll have to undo your rear propshaft) comes loose and make a terrific noise on deceleration/engine braking.

    Another good tip - make sure your axle breather is clear, could be blocked, pressurising the axle casing forcing oil out of the flange gasket, or even into the wheel hubs... ect ect...

    Did you see if the engine turns over? you might get away with it if it turns over, If it dont turn over dont forget it could be hydrolocked - you cant compress water. Hope ya get it sorted!

    Yeah its quite normal, gets warm from the heat givven off the gearbox/engine under there, just like the backseat on the old busses used to.

    Have you adjusted the brake shoes properly?? - do you need to pump them to get them to work? Try adjusting the little square headed screw on the back of the brake plates, first adjust them tight till the you can feel them grab when you turn the drum, then just back off a bit till you can turn...

    Tecalemit make good grease guns and fittings, i have a Groz gun tho, it has a cartridge fill, so no mess when filling, real good nozzle that grips the nipple, Around 10-15 quid on ebay.

    Forgot to mention about the "o" ring, it just slips over the stub of the venturi, when you have the carb in half. you can get a special tool to stretch them, but there quite east just to roll down the stub, they are essential also to the carb, as it will pull in air from the carb bowl with out...
