smiths oil pressure gauge - was out of a series three, and an ammeter for the alternator- that was out of a ford in a scrappers. there is also a block of wood to wedge in the transfer lever when in low, it occasionally pops into neutral, i think thoug that might be an aftermarket device

For non-critical & service components i use Britpart, otherwise brake parts and engine internals i try for OEM or bearmach. I did get a timing chain for a 3.9 v8 in a rangie, took it out of its box, one look, and went back in its box!, It Just didnt look up to the job.

I looked into going down this route of changing to manual from the ZF auto box cos i blew my forward drive in the ZF(fitted to a 1990 rangerover), There is a bit of work involved, also a few differnet parts, you would need the complete pedal box for the clutch and brake, transmission cover...

I have an old air brake compressor off a bus braking system, it has a little 10ltr storage tank, operated by an air conditioning pump clutch/belt set-up, works bloody real, handy for inflating tyres. I have heard about the air conditioning pump set up...but isnt an air conditioning pump more...

Started to take the engine out, going to replace the camshaft and timing chain whilst thats out, then drop the tranny out, so far nothing is seized (fingers crossed). Any one want pics?:)

Are you sure it isnt loctite thread locker or sealer?

Its the same both in high and low, i was in 'low' when the car stopped, there was no crunching or grinding, just stopped moving and the engine revs increased, yes it snaps into reverse, parks still locks the tranny. Had to tow it home in neutral, with the engine running, so i dont ruin the...
