Will Black Derv or Bio ruin the Cat

it's not a cat as such more of a soot trap, I've run my 300TDI auto on svo with no problems at all so i wouldn't think you'd have any trouble

    Rear Panel Removal

they have spot welds all the way up on the rear quarter panel. you can't get to them on the car but you can get it off with a hacksaw blade running down the seam, it's not a structural part so when you put it back on you could bond it on. that's what i did on my 200 and use screws through the...

    oil change, cambelt change

you really should worry less IF you know that YOUR cam belt has been changed and YOU have done the oil, filters etc on YOUR car then why worry about what has or hasn't been done on someone else's car? it doesn't matter how many miles, mine has done 175K and will run rings around some with half...

    oil change, cambelt change

The disco is the perfect car to "cut your teeth" on servicing, everything is big and tough and simple. everything apart from the timing belt is more than in the reach of the average home mechanic once you get into it you'll find yourself with the bonnet up doing little bits here and there in no...

    oil change, cambelt change

have you got a Haynes manual ? the servicing is in there. I tend not to go by the book but have a fiddle every now and then, grease here and there check this and that. change stuff if it needs doing that way the cost is spread over a longer period and a bit of preventative maintenance rather...

    oil change, cambelt change

first off you can't change the oil too often but then again there is no reason to go mad, for the price of oil and a filter any where between 3 and 6k depending on the use. lots of stop start miles will be worse for the oil than longer runs. if in doubt about the cam belt ? fit a new one ...

    Throttle not responding

they are drive by wire so it may just be a corroded connection, the ECU sits in the drivers foot well kick panel, if the screen leaks the water can run down the wiring harness into the connectors

    Chipping a '97 300TDi Auto...

you don't have to remove it if you don't want to you could just take the two pipes off and just run your cleaning fluid through from the top of the cooler to the bottom and catch it in a dish. you can get the intercooler off in about 20 mins without draining the coolant. you just need to move...

    Chipping a '97 300TDi Auto...

It does increase the fueling yes but it also increases boost pressure slightly but that is the only way you will increase power more fuel+more air = more power. but when your car left the factory it was set up to run any where in the world on any grade of fuel and so had a very wide tolerance...

    Chipping a '97 300TDi Auto...

Did you read my reply ????? you CANNOT turn the fuel pump up manually on EDC equipped cars. they have to be chipped on a diesel you control the fuel via the throttle pedal unlike a petrol where you control the air. so no matter how free flowing the air is you will still dictate how much fuel...

    Chipping a '97 300TDi Auto...

Ok just to set the record straight YES YOU CAN CHIP A 300TDI AUTO !.. . . because it has the EDC means that you can't manually alter the fuel pump. but you can chip it and it is well worth doing, there are a couple of places that can do it for you. TD5alive,twisted performance and the derv...
