Throttle not responding

Hi I am looking at a disco 300tdi auto later and there is a few problems with it so should be able to get it for a good price. Now the throttle doesn't always respond when pressed apparently. What could cause this and is it a big problem to fix? Cheers

Just looked at the car and am very happy with it so gunna go for it, needs a few bits but nothing massive! Re the throttle it didn't do it on test drive, he said last time he fiddled about with the ecu box in foot well and then was fine?????

they are drive by wire so it may just be a corroded connection, the ECU sits in the drivers foot well kick panel, if the screen leaks the water can run down the wiring harness into the connectors

I thought the ECM sat in the engine bay on the bulkhead?

no the ecu is right up in the kick panel bit of a fiddle to get at

be careful it doesnt need throttle potentiometer s they are £900 new ,part of pedal

That would explain the intermittent problem then, yeah it looks a bitch to get to if it does give me any problems when I get it. He did say that he had a leaking sunroof a few years ago that's now been sorted so that all makes sence I guess. Might be worth wile giveing the conections a clean
