unless he's got signs saying "CCTV in operation" or words to that effect any footage can't be used as evidence a loop hole in the law says that it's classed as "entrapment" if there are not signs
In a word NO the "cold feed" has a diameter of 2-2.5" even if you managed to get it pointing directly forwards after all the twists and turns you would have to put in it to get it to point at the filter there would hardly be any thing coming through it.
and as for being as close to the turbo as...
MMMM lovely a open filter next to a red hot turbo sucking in all that nice hot air ! Not good for performance or economy working against the intercooler.
better off with either a standard filter in the standard air box or a panel filter in the standard air box as the standard box takes it's feed...
test your boost pressure yourself it's quite easy
instructions to do it are in the Haynes manual.
you just need a length of hose, a Tee piece, and a boost gauge.
stuck open you would have no boost as it would let it all go down the exhaust.
stuck closed you would only really notice when you booted it, and built up full boost cause it would just keep boosting
