    Finally got another Land Rover!

Thank you. Don't be put off if your welds are what you want, just keep practicing and maybe try watching some YouTube videos, there are plenty out there! Just keep at it, get bits of scrap, keep the joints and the nozzle clean, try different settings, just keep going man!

    Finally got another Land Rover!

Day off today (Monday) so went down the yard and made the floor-sill assembly and the various brackets and bits that go with it. I will clamp it all together on the vehicle first to ensure it all goes in the right place, and any trimming or adjusting is much easier when it is all in it's...

    Help my td5 won't start

Does the engine actually turn over easily by hand? Have you tried removing the auxiliary drive belt and trying again? Have you measured the resistance in the cables? Have you measured the voltage at the starter motor under load?

    What's happening???

Is it only when you are driving? You mentioned the A/C making a difference when holding a constant speed. Can you replicate that when stationary but holding the throttle to the appropriate RPM? If you can establish if it's an issue that is present when driving or not, or put another way: when...

    Fuel gage being very weird..

Well you need to establish a direction so I'd do a bit of a visual first then I'd get the multimeter out and start measuring things. If the wiring between the sender and gauge is good then it has to be one of those components, so I would then find a way to mimic various fuel levels and see what...

    Finally got another Land Rover!

Took the wing off and poked holes in some more bits :D Got a couple of hours this afternoon so cracked on and got the sill and floor assembly removed: Just need to go and make the replacement panels then on to the door posts :D:D

    Finally got another Land Rover!

I have been having thoughts about the sills, my original intention was to use 120x60x3 box and put a tree slider/side step type deal on it but I now don't like that idea because if it were to take an impact it would bend the door post and floor etc. In my opinion the tree slider should be...

    Finally got another Land Rover!

The answer is always there, you just need to see it... There was a pile of pallets to the passenger side, it is now on the driver's side along with some more and a tarpaulin: Even got some where to park my tools and cuppa! Good old bailer twine :D

Get some oil off dip stick and put it on some tin foil then hold a lighter/flame/heater under it. If it starts to boil then there's water in the oil. Not a 100% but a quick and easy way to give you some indication. That along with some other tests will give you a clearer picture.
