Help my td5 won't start

Just wondering if anyone can help. My td5 won't start. It's had a new battery and starter motor. The starter motor engages but won't turn over the engine. It is as if the engine locks up. Any suggestions greatly appreciated

What did you do to it BEFORE you tried to start it ?

presuming it was ok before, a poor battery or starter or fitting

Took it on a 10 mile drive. Parked it up for 2 hours then when I went back to it it refused to start

Put a new battery on it due to previous owner hadn't charged it and run it dry. Changed the starter motor due to it sticking

It's not the refusing to start, it's the refusing to turn over that seems to be the issue ...

As James says battery or starter or cables ...

Check cables first, for tightness and not touching anything they shouldn't ...

Starter could be pooped, have you got another to try or bench test the one you have ...

Already checked the starter. And got multiple batteries as well as jump leads on another vehicle

Does the engine actually turn over easily by hand?
Have you tried removing the auxiliary drive belt and trying again?
Have you measured the resistance in the cables?
Have you measured the voltage at the starter motor under load?

Hi, Make sure the small spade terminal on the starter motor selinoid is good too

If you hear the starter solenoid clicking loud and no turn over push the vehicle forward a bit while it's in gear and try then

Did you try a bump start? Did that work?
