It was the brake pad backing disk that was causing the noise. Moved it a bit and noise went away. Sadly after a 5 minute drive, the noise came back so I will have to sort it out when I have the time. At least I know it is nothing major and an easy fix. :D

There was an issue as I couldn't get on here this morning.

Weather depending, I will have a look tomorrow. I now don't think it is the bearings. It's been many years since I had a car with failing bearings but it doesn't sound how I remember it, but I am now reliant on hearing aids so it might well sound different to me now.

Discs seem to be the same temp. No difference that I can detect when hard cornering. I very recently have had the clutch renewed and have only used it for one very short journey before it being parked up for over a week. Could anything they have done to renew the clutch cause this?

Just been out in my 06 TD4 and I have a noise which speeds up and down depending on speed of car. More noticeable at slower speed. A sort of Jud jud jud jud and so on sound. I am very hard of hearing but can hear it. To my bad ears it sounds like a wheel bearing. Family say it is coming from...

Had my 2006 TD4 for over 5 years now and no issues with expansion tank. Now I have said that, it will probably implode.

As much as I trust my FL1 in the snow, I don't think I will be turning up for my night shift tonight. It is raining lightly and as the rain lands it is freezing instantly on whatever it lands on. I will not risk my life on sheer ice. I can't even see out of my house windows as they are covered...

Where to get one of those? I currently have no outside temp device.

Renault Megane estate was my worst in the snow. Just a light covering and it was useless.

I will have to drive 20 miles home from work tomorrow morning starting at about 03:45. I am dreading it. Not because of the snow. The FL1 is fine in the snow but because some parts of my journey are through flat low laying farmland and the temp there is always much lower, so probably very icy.

Very sneaky. I am sure my bypass would fail this year. Most if not all of the ones I have seen for sale on fleabay and similar are Pierburgh valves.

Just in case I cannot find my EGR valve for my 2006 TD4 and need to buy one for the MOT....... Are all Freelander egr valves thesame or are there specific ones for every version of FL1?

It has been bled. About 2 weeks ago. No air present.

If it isn't the clutch, what could be the issue? The current clutch was fitted around 4 to 5 years ago.

I assume you are referring to the push rod where I cut the plastic cowl?

So, what exactly is needed to be done? Although I am racked with pain in my back, I have some time as it doesn't go into the garage until the 28th. If the job is easy enough, I might be able to manage it.
