Just been out in my 06 TD4 and I have a noise which speeds up and down depending on speed of car.
More noticeable at slower speed.

A sort of Jud jud jud jud and so on sound.

I am very hard of hearing but can hear it. To my bad ears it sounds like a wheel bearing.

Family say it is coming from left front side.

So, what are the possible issues?

Sounds more like a dragging front caliper. Take it for a short drive and see if the LH disc is hotter than the RH disc. An empty washing up liquid bottle filled with water makes an ideal water spray for checking overheated discs.;)

if its wheel bearing it should be more noticeable when cornering hardish, on the opposite side to which your turning, rear prop also has a set of center support bearings they can give similar noise

Discs seem to be the same temp.
No difference that I can detect when hard cornering.

I very recently have had the clutch renewed and have only used it for one very short journey before it being parked up for over a week.
Could anything they have done to renew the clutch cause this?

I had a brake disk protective plate rust away so badly it collapsed onto the disk. It caused more of a high pitched scratching noise but I guess it could have rubbed on another part of the wheel and caused a different sound.
Worth checking cause it's a 30 second repair if that's all it is.

Weather depending, I will have a look tomorrow.
I now don't think it is the bearings. It's been many years since I had a car with failing bearings but it doesn't sound how I remember it, but I am now reliant on hearing aids so it might well sound different to me now.

Nothing on the freelander sounds like you think it's supposed too

It was the brake pad backing disk that was causing the noise.
Moved it a bit and noise went away.
Sadly after a 5 minute drive, the noise came back so I will have to sort it out when I have the time.
At least I know it is nothing major and an easy fix. :D
