Ok quick update.....I just had to go out and move car of drive, so guessed while I was out there double check the Landy coolant level. It would appear that after the car has cooled down the water levels stabilise and go back to being as they should be.......!!!

So how long would you say it have left in it? Also how do you know what head gasket is needed?

300 tdi, but there is no signs of foaming in the oil or milky gunk in the oil either.

Funny you should mention that, I had a look today and have indeed used a little bit bit of coolant.....

Hi all, Quick question, I understand that the cooling system does pressurise but when I open the cap I get a gurgling noise a long with the pressure escaping is this normal also even if the Landy is left overnight the system is still pressurised should this be the case? Kyle

so a little update, was out checking the landy over today. checked the alternator and all the fittings and leads of it everything seems ok there. so really am still stumped as the system is still charging but charge light remains on.....? As for earths, where should i look for the earths?

Hi all, Im indeed of some help. earlier this evening i drove my 300tdi disco to a friend of mine all was going well till i came to a rather big puddle in the road. i slowed down and went nice and slowly through the puddle. came out the other side and all seemed fine untill 500 yards or so...

UPDATE....!!!!! Have spent most of the day on the landy, have cleaned the intercooler, breather and al hoses out..........and its still surging. Now there was bits of oil in the pipes but not loads. So all to do now is change the fuel filter. What are the chances of it being fuel related...
