Hi all,

was out and about today in the snow and what not, whilst plodding around i noticed that at around about 1500-2000rpm, the old was surging almost as if i was on and of the throttle a little bit or as if the brakes were binding.

Has any one got any ideas what this could be, cant say i have noticed it before......

Its a manual 300tdi disco.

You running on bio?

Had thought of that, but was thinking if that being the case why would it be more noticable at around the 2000rpm spot?
Not sure maybe not eough pressure at 2000 ,,,,,,is tickover the same at 750 rpm

Mine did that a bit before I fitted the new lift pump, but I blamed it on the bio (song there somewhere):D

UPDATE....!!!!!

Have spent most of the day on the landy, have cleaned the intercooler, breather and al hoses out..........and its still surging. Now there was bits of oil in the pipes but not loads.

So all to do now is change the fuel filter. What are the chances of it being fuel related, as under acceleration she seems to be fine.

Shot in the dark but could it be fuel or water in fuel starting to freeze......?

MMM intressting, is there anyway i can check the lift pump....or is it change and hope for the best.

I will leave to singing to you mate...... ;)

Tou can loosen the banjo on the fuel filter and pump the lift pump or turn the engine over and see if fuel comes out:)
