Battery light question

Hi all,

Im indeed of some help. earlier this evening i drove my 300tdi disco to a friend of mine all was going well till i came to a rather big puddle in the road. i slowed down and went nice and slowly through the puddle. came out the other side and all seemed fine untill 500 yards or so down the road, this is when my battery light came on and lights seemed to dim. so i pulled over checked connections and sprayed the alternator connections with some wd40. This made no difference at all, so i carried on to my friends when we inspected the disco.

So upon inspection everything seems ok with charging system. the alternator which is new and has done 300 miles or so seems to be ok. the alternator is charging at 14.6volts. so i decided to drive home as battery was charging but battery light was still on. on side lights the battery light stays on all the time, when i go dip,main and full beam the lights and the battery light are pulsing.

i really am confused about this has anyone got any ideas?

Check the earths to chassis and engine block

so a little update, was out checking the landy over today. checked the alternator and all the fittings and leads of it everything seems ok there. so really am still stumped as the system is still charging but charge light remains on.....?

As for earths, where should i look for the earths?

Usually underneath the drivers side front wheel arch
