I’ve been offered a p38 key fob with a blank key; the guy has installed the electronics which was set to his old p38, my question is can the electronics in the key fob be reset to match my p38 so I can use it.

Thanks Mark, I am convinced the leak is from the top pipe in on the adapter, I spoke to my local Land Rover garage chap I explained the problem, he said much the same as me, fitting is correct has to be something wrong either with pipe or adapter or even both, offered to take a look on his ramp...

You say new engine and gearbox mounts, are you sure you have suspended the engine right, only needs one mount to be slightly off and that could cause trouble, had similar few years ago on a diesel someone had changed, engine was a bit heavier

Well sounds like you have covered everything bleed wise, one last thing you could try is a pressure easybleed kit, you can get one from Halfords around £15.00, this will blow the fluid through and remove any air in the system, if after this you still can’t get full release there’s nothing more...

Just a thought could it be the diaphragm in the fuel pump has got hard.

If the piston has moved further up the slave cylinder than usual, the seal is probably damaged so replace slave cylinder as opposed to seal, then bleed again.

Thank you for that link I really appreciate it, unfortunately my headlights are the ones before that fitment, the studs are part of the headlight none removable, obviously the change to the headlights was due partly to this very problem. I’ll get round it just a pity Land Rover didn’t address it...
