    Good progress and good news about the engine but you want to get the chassis sorted first imho. I would strip the rest of it down first and then go from there before starting anything else. You might be able to pick up a rolling chassis. I've seen a few for sale lately. Norrie .

    Door strikers

    Ok so my Series 3 had Defender doors when I bought it and I have reverted to Series 3 doors. I see that the strikers are completely different. Do I just need the new striker plates or will I need anything else? Also are they normally shimmed or just bolt straight on? Thanks. Norrie .

    It's ok I've sussed it. Looked back at some old pics when I stripped it and they support the roof where the strengthening bar is.

    No there not exhaust clamps. I think they are off the tub or sides/roof somewhere. They were removed to be galvanized when I had all the cappings etc done. They look like they were rivited on. Norrie.

    Series 3 How much bleeding do brakes need?

    I had a similar problem and it turned out there were to many springs on the shoes. I.e. the shoes were being pulled back so you had to pump the pedal to push the shoes into the drum.

    Mini restoration of my 75 Series 3

    Finished painting the tub and got it lifted back into place. I just had to rivet on some of the cappings to see what it looked like. Norrie .

    I never had the bulkhead out so that's not been moved. I seem to remember shims but can't remember where they came from. lol. Norrie

    Ok so I'm nearly ready to refit the tub back on once I finish painting it. What advice can you give on getting it all aligned properly? Do I need to fit the doors at the same time? Thanks. Norrie .

    As for filler I’ve not used any on my panels. I’ve hit all the dents out the best I can and the rest can stay. Norrie.
