i've had this issue for a while and never got to the bottom of it. when i start the car from cold i get a very strong fuel smell out of the exhaust, and it sounds like the engine is misfiring, it does this for around 1-2 mins then i hear a click i'm guessing from a relay or solenoid and it runs...

I bought mine used a few weeks back but so far only read & cleared codes, it seems I had a load in the transfer box causing me issues, still getting a can bus error, and on my car can't access the LCM because of that. But it's a job that requires unplugging ecus till I find the fault

I had my dsp amp stop working, it turned out the front left pin (i think) on the connector with the large round terminals had corroded and lost contact, I was lucky as I can solder and used bus wire soldered inside the corroded pin to repair it.

anybody with autologic can resync it as well as long as they have the land rover software, when mine went of of sync a while back i called a small local garage who had the right software he came out reset it for me for £50

can help with a few the EBV code ignore had that on mine and it dose not refer to the RR its a left over BMW system key code tolerance also ignore its normal a lot of codes maybe related, (air suspension etc) it maybe worth checking fuses etc if that fails then it could be down to unplugging...

mine has an occasional rattle on start up, it's quite common, some say it's the vanos units, some say it's an oil valve behind the vanos solenoid, but i use mine pretty much daily final choice is upto you but people do use the 0w-40 with no issues, but i'm sure someone else will have some input...

I use 5w40 in my v8 l322, the first number is cold viscosity so 0w-40 will be thinner cold so should circulate quicker at start up. But as these engines are getting older a lot of people who use 0w oil say their engines are noisier cold on the thinner oil. The 40 is hot viscosity so should be...

it's best to go right through everything you can access and clear codes if you can drive it a couple of days and see what codes come back, i cleared mine yesterday i had 10 error codes on the transfer box alone, the problem being some of these codes will cause faults in other units i.e...

It is possible if the strut was fitted and not inflated before the car was let off the stands it can pinch the bag, also worth checking height sensors. Try rotating steering left to right lock also. Failing that you would need to let us know what the fault code is, it is worth also checking...

ok so this mornings progress,i've pulled the headlight levelling module disconnected it, i checked the unit over and even opened it and pulled the board out, there looks to be no water damage and no green slime in the connectors. but i still can't access the LCM with allcomms, i open a session...

i meant to post i did sort this problem in the end, i contacted carphonics who said they couldn't fix it, i then took to eBay and found a company called electronicsde (i think) anyway sent it to him he re-programmed it to my car reinstalled the firmware and it all came back to life

that's great cheers saint, i've also found online the error can be caused by the pcv hoses but usually the mil light will be on, think i'll check mine tomorrow just to be sure
