Yes, you can put it in sport mode then click back and forth with the stick to self-select gears 1-5. As it's effectively an electrical switch signal (just with a blooming big switch) it's fairly straightforward to convert to flappy paddle if you're so inclined.

They specifically look for autos because of the nature of the injuries most of their drivers have suffered. A mate does some work with them and I've had the pleasure of meeting Ben Gott with his R2R Bowler at RAF Odiham :D

Short answer is no. Long answer is much the same unfortunately.

Other thing to watch with an 06 is the reg date. Anything after March (23rd I think?) is higher tax. Are you open to the idea of an auto? If so it is a much nicer drive and doesn't suffer from the cursed clutch slave cylinder leaking.

If not going into deep mud etc, worth looking at the Sport Premium model. Leather, a/c, heated seats etc. 35mm lower and a more car-like drive.

Two reasons I bought the Freelander: 1) It was cheaper than winter wheels and tyres for my other car; and 2) I wanted to get back to "fun" off-road and green laning after taking it far too easy in a Disco3 Well next year I get to do (2) in spades as I will be taking part in the H4H 4x4...

Ah, well we didn't know that, what with that being your first post. As a rule, garage diagnostics require, you know, a garage. A physical examination. Prodding. We haven't had the chance to do that. You have. Guess that makes you the expert :p All joking apart, I'll have a rummage and see...

When checking the oil, did you undo the wrong bolt? If so it's a gearbox rebuild as you need to reattach the belts used for reverse.

My attempts to track down some longer springs..... not such a success. I'll take a set of 30mm please :)
