It's a DINO for sure. Defender In Name Only.

To sell or keep ... defenders going up in value ??

If you bought one pre-2010 it's definitely gone up in value if you maintained it, held it's value if you just stored it and didn't maintain it etc.

    The new defender!

Yeah maybe in London but the rural areas don't pay heed to that ****. Also that Brexit thing will at least mean further rejection of EU directives. That being said I did see some EU Bull**** that they want all non-electric vehicles off the road by 2040 which is in my lifetime. Yet any vehicle...

    Keys lost in car!

Sounds like a subtle nightmare, a mechy / technician would charge half that and then some. Good luck.

    I Bent the Wheel Brace!

CRACK! CRACK CRACK! Nut cracker! Bearmach to the rescue. Got 'er done. :) The cheater bar is a bit more than 3 feet I think, might struggle to stuff it behind the seat. Main thing is the nuts are loosened enough to manually undo.

Interesting that it uses two timing belts!

    Vvvmmmmm. Vvvvmmmm noise td5 110

How does it go again? ;) The TD5 seems to have more than a few quirks and gremlins prancing about in that thar' engine I think.

    I Bent the Wheel Brace!

Well lads, just got the bearmach wheel brace. Will let you know how this latest endeavor goes. If this fails it's either an impact driver, or take it to a garage to rattle those nuts!

Disco 3 (LR3) Sloppy gear shifter. High miles purchase?

I paid about 150 quid or so for my timing belt I think. Rear timing belt? A timing belt is just one belt I thought?

£1000 for the belts? Might as well get a new transmission if that's what its part of?

What’s your personal experience with LED’s

I'd get them for the front headlights maybe. But not as a pack for 500 odd quid, that's as much as halogen Xenon lights.

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Surely you'd want a 300TDI for the newer thing without too much electrickery stuff?

Nice battle scars on the door there. Like the paint job also

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Refitted the branch protectors to the headlights. Bit of a ballache as the Brit-part fittings on the lower section are a bit crap. The mk1 fittings work better so did that instead.

What’s your personal experience with LED’s

They are a bit too harsh and flickery when flashing someone, kinda souless somehow to the organic way the non-LEDs do it. Yet the light they kick out is brilliant and piercing.

    Road tax question

What is the exemption age? I thought that was only for pre-73 Series 2s?

Anyone else out there use there Defender for work?

Nice moves, there was me thinking that all the TVs get replaced and shipped back to workshop China for recycling etc. Nice to hear repairs to them still go on.
