    I have had the cylinder head off and am putting it back together. Now the engine starts with a great deal of difficulty...chucking out white smoke, runs for a minute or so then stops! I am running out of ideas now - but it just occurred to me. I bagged and numbered all my injectors (1 to 5)...

    @Nigel1943 I am pretty certain that it is correct. I used two timing pins. Thank you But will try it again just to be sure.

    @Headtester thanks for your response....and yes I have done this although I couldn't blank them at the module and had to blank them at the EGR end.

    The cylinder head has been removed and repaired and I am now putting it back together. But I have this unidentified part..see picture. I have been through the parts list and the LR workshop manual and can't see it listed anywhere. Can anybody identify it please.

    Thanks for your response discodrivercumbria....could I ask you....did you get any loud rattling sounds and do you know what causes the smoke. If that is the problem...at least it is fairly quick and inexpensive to do. Oh and....how long has it been since you did this last repair? Thanks
