How to check if fuel line is clear

Oh no, certainly not ignoring your advice...I am totally lost in this and trying just about everything now. Took a break today and did some gardening to clear my head a bit :) I ordered a diagnostic tool as you suggested and took delivery of it a couple of hours ago. I havent plugged it in yet...

There must be something I am missing (apart from my sanity)?

I have been working on this for weeks and so far: my cylinder head had a cracked no1 injector housing so I got it repaired. Have now reassembled it but have done some other stuff at the same time including; fitting new fuel pressure regulator and removing and blanking off the EGR valve...

How to check if fuel line is clear

You can uncross your fingers. It didn't make any difference. Although it did bleed quicker - only 20 mins this time

How to check if fuel line is clear

Ha Haaaaa...problem solved. I undid the return pipe (of a 3 pipe pressure switch) from the pressure switch end and blew through it. There was some resistance and then it cleared ...leastways I hope it wasn't my imagination. But I know it is clear now. Fingers crossed.

syptoms of faulty fuel pressure regulator

I fitted a brand new fuel pressure regulator and I am having trouble (wont run, keep needing to purge it, etc) so does anyone know what symptoms to expect from a faulty fuel pressure regulator as I cannot discount that the new one may be faulty?

TD5 Not starting after new injector seals/O rings. Help!

I found this suggestion using the search facility. It seemed to be just what I was looking for and I followed it to the letter. After an hour of purging it started with little trouble and run for a minute or so without kicking and then stopped. I purged it again for 30 mins this time and again...

    The continuing saga

Thank you, I have listened and can hear the pump...it does a screaming noise but then eventually does go quiet. Every time I turn it on it does the same thing. I will clean the plastic gauze filter as suggested.

Running out of ideas. . ..v2

Thanks for this I will certainly check the fuel lines as I wasn't aware they could be wrong way round (although I did fit a new pressure switch which had pipes attached).....and will leave the injectors for the time being. The pump does scream when turned on but does quieten eventually so I will...

Tomorrow I will swap round the injectors in case I mistakenly started from the back instead of the front. Any other suggestions very welcome as I am plain out of ideas after that.

I checked and rechecked with two timing pins, one in flywheel and one in camshaft...pretty sure its right now.

I will see if I can find somebody with one of these. But when I turn the engine over by hand it seems to have a lot of compression in it. Yes - you can smell it - it is unburnt fuel due to trying to start the engine. New injector harness was also fitted, plug cleaned with break and clutch...
