    Disco 2 Removing headlining

despite not having sunroofs, I still appear to have a leak and the only way to sort it out is to remove the headlining. My series 1 disco was easy. I have searched online and can find very little about removing a disco 2 headlining. Can anyone help?

Disco 2 Fuel Filter changed. water in filter light still on.

Thank you all for your responses, makes me feel much better. It would therefore appear that sensor could be faulty. If there was fuel in the system, the engine would stop, or, I guess run very rough. Fuel pump noise is normal. All appears to be okay then!

Disco 2 Fuel Filter changed. water in filter light still on.

Sounds like a faulty sensor. Drove it earlier on and it came on again. Just drove it now and it was off. One final question, when I turn the ignition on and stand outside, I can hear the fuel pump. Is this normal?

Disco 2 Fuel Filter changed. water in filter light still on.

I did wonder about the reliability. All seems very coincidental. What year did they delete the sensors? If there were water in the system, what would the symptoms be?

Disco 2 Fuel Filter changed. water in filter light still on.

I did wonder that. If this were the case, how do I get rid of it? I did clean the connectors and went out for a drive, the light came back on. Got home, turned engine off and on again and the light stayed off. I am due to go out shortly and I will see what happens.

Disco 2 Fuel Filter changed. water in filter light still on.

The water in fuel filter light came on the other day. Changed the filter, yesterday and all fine. After driving 40 miles, light has come back on. Any suggestions? I wonder if the sensor connections need cleaning, although all looked fine. Thanks.

    Disco 2 Power Steering Fluid

Just had a new Steering box fitted - steering is now very positive. Just looked at power steering level and noticed it is down to the minimum mark. Just been to local auto centre who could not find the same spec as quoted in the manual. Do I need to go to Landrover to get the correct spec?

Disco 2 No Sunroofs - still leaks water

Sounds expensive. Good point about being scientific though. At the weekend (providing it is dry), I will drench the gutter near the water ingress. If there is no apparent leak, I will then drench the alpine window. Hopefully, this will help to isolate the potential leak.

Disco 2 No Sunroofs - still leaks water

Wouldn't disagree. I was however hoping to get away without taking the headlining out. I do not have any roof bars. With the location of the water, I do wonder if it is roof panel to pillar. would this involve taking headlining out?

Disco 2 No Sunroofs - still leaks water

I purposely bought a Discovery without sunroofs so that I could avoid the dreaded leaks. However, I still appear to have a leak. It is on the passenger side between the A-Post and sun visor. Given that water travels down, I don't think it is from the windscreen. It has been suggested it maybe...

    Disco 2 V8 radiator fan

Just thought, these were for td5. I am sure they do them for v8.

    Disco 2 V8 radiator fan

I had the same issue. Eventually, I bought 2 spanners on ebay for £20. These are made specifically for the task. One is 36mm for the fan bolt. The other has 3 holes drilled into it that will fit the 3 pulley bolts. Although expensive, well worth it. For a number of reasons I have removed the fan...

    Disco 2 interior plastics cleaner

Years ago, I used a product by decosol. It was in a glass bottle and was a thick orange liquid. You paint it onto the trim and leave it. You could physically see the Orange change colour. Wipe it off with a damp cloth and the result was amazing. I don't know if this product is still available or...

    Disco 2 Identification of part

New pulley due tomorrow. Tested the bolt and it undid very easily. Hopefully should be straight forward. What should I torque the bolt to?

    Disco 2 Identification of part

Thanks. I have just done a search for err66568 and nothing is founds. On the previous number you recommended with the assembly, the assembly looked to be the correct one.

    Disco 2 Identification of part

Can I just confirm. I have searched for err6493 and the idler pulley comes up. On some sites, it shows all pulleys and the arrows point to one of the other pulleys, which is near the cylinder head. Are the two pulleys the same?

    Disco 2 Identification of part

Thanks, James. Is the pulley easy to remove, or would it be easier to buy the whole assembly?

    Disco 2 Identification of part

I think bearings have gone on an idler. Before I can order a new part, I need to identify the name of the part. It is one of the pulleys the auxillary belt goes around. It has no AC or ACE and is the pulley furthest away from the tensioner and nearest to the air filter. Can anyone provide me...
