I purposely bought a Discovery without sunroofs so that I could avoid the dreaded leaks. However, I still appear to have a leak. It is on the passenger side between the A-Post and sun visor. Given that water travels down, I don't think it is from the windscreen. It has been suggested it maybe from the roof gutter. Apart from this area, I do not appear to have leaks anywhere else. Any suggestions/easy fix?

Easy is a relative thing ... to do it properly remove the headlining and check all the usual suspects ...
Roof bars, Alpine windows, roof panel to pillar and the windscreen (behind the plastic trim) ....

Wouldn't disagree. I was however hoping to get away without taking the headlining out. I do not have any roof bars. With the location of the water, I do wonder if it is roof panel to pillar. would this involve taking headlining out?

I suppose ideally it would ... but you might get away with some external sealant / paint, it should be UV stable though to last ...

MMy '91 Disco1 has a leak that drains from the front drivers corner of the roof-lining directly above my leg o_O

but with mine the reason looks quite obvious as the roof above there is a bit 'bubbly' by the windscreen seal :(

Rich.

get some Roof Gutter sealant from a builder supply merchant or BQ etc top of front screen to A pillar is known, seal along gutter and around above rear door!, dry day needed, now there's something!

Ha ha I laughed when I saw this, I think disco's were designed to act as a mobile shower! Mine's leaking but I do have sunroofs. No doubt mine is probably the same too as it's the a frame on mine

I have to second the motion to check the alspne window; but before you go taking the deadlining out, why not try getting a bit sceintific on it by adding UV dye to water in a watering can and dowse the alpine window with the dyed water then use a UV LED to check to see if your water ingress is glowing?

I forgot to say, I also had to laugh at the comment about deliberately getting one WITHOUT sunroofs as her disco has sunroofs on it, and they were fine when we got it, and also for the first year of ownership, but once my son figured out how to climb onto the roof  with his mates, well.....

Sounds expensive. Good point about being scientific though. At the weekend (providing it is dry), I will drench the gutter near the water ingress. If there is no apparent leak, I will then drench the alpine window. Hopefully, this will help to isolate the potential leak.
