Which diesel fuel is best for my old 300TDi?

IIRC, i've learned in the past that Shell is the only brand that totally makes their own fuels. I'm probably not talking 100% accuracy here but every other fuel brand comes from the same oil supply or summink or other but shell got their own down. I don't think BP is on that same page as shell...

    Series 2 Ebay gem

Thought this might be of interest to some, seen it a while back on 'barn finds' and its still up. To me untrained eye this looks lovely, a 109 pickup, the lot. But the price is a bit steep?! or is it...

Disco 2 Alarm/C Locking help needed!

The re-sync or re calibration is not for the d2 its for the key itself, which I assume is exclusive to the keys that they sell, but the process read... 1. Stand close to the car. 2. Press and hold the Unlock button down. 3. Whilst doing this, press the Lock button 3 times. 4. Then release the...

Disco 2 Alarm/C Locking help needed!

Right finally got round to emailing remote key instead of ringing and a chap got straight back to me regarding a possible desynchronisation of the key, and he gave me a process to try involving resetting it and repeatedly unlocking till it responds, and it did!! So the fob is now working okay...

Tearing my hair out.. Wife in tears!!

Who "de-immobilised" your ecu? I totally disabled the alarm and immobiliser myself using a Hawkeye, so it will never alarm and always start, as a temporary relief until I fix what my problem is, but correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the drivers door work just on the key separately as well as...

    Series 3 Series 3 1972 Restore

"It had a slight orange, more black tbf. It was full with fluid on all of them"... Check me out ;) the fluid was more likely mushy gear parts than oil :P

    Series 3 Series 3 1972 Restore

Little news on the gearbox, he said it took half a day just to fully drain it and in exact words... "It smelt pretty bad, and was a horrid orange colour. The main gear box drain bung had a load of metal pieces stuck in it which could be slightly worrying", they were small bits of copper and...

Disco 2 no heat & water disappearing

Only a potential idea, but a knackered head gasket and/or head could mean your water is leaking into the combustion chamber. If that's the case, you won't have any leaks as such that you can see as it isn't visible on the exterior. Is your exhaust telling you anything? Any steam, if not...

    Other workshop days

@gstuart not that its related to LZ, but the local clubs usually make use of the labour favour setup. I'm a member of the Fenlanders 4x4 club for e.g who are an awesome bunch, loads of events and often spend Saturdays helpin each other with the big jobs. LZ is obviously distant so harder to get...
