Eventually.... it wasn't the clutch at all. the monkeys who dropped the engine initially must have fecked the selector shaft in the gearbox... new box in it now.... all sorted.

sorted... one of these goes to the turbo solenoid (via the BMW Vaccum pressure vessel - but not required) the other goes to the EGR solenoid - mine is now blanked off, but runs perfectly.

it ended up NOT being the slave cylinder.. the gearbox selector shaft was goosed on the inside of the box. I ended up having to fit another box to the car!!! :-( Although I did eventually buy a LUK slave.

All Sorted - New Engine and Box....almost new everything.... maybe i will Face Lift it this year!

All Sorted... easier to replace than to repair to be honest.. Just Re-gassing to do now!

Actually.... after doing an engine swap, I found that this hose wasn't the culprit.. i was the victim of a faulty batch of sensors..... All fixed now!

Going to have a go at this over the next few weeks. I plan on taking photos, measurements and typing up a tutorial..... hopefully I will get them to fit without the use of the MIG Welder!

Sorted..... New engine gone in.... along with a new (good second hand) Gear Box. Also to add.. if the bores are not oval, and compression is high, the 4th Crankshaft Bearing "CAN" be replaced in situ, although you would be better replacing the whole set of shells.

OK... Gotchas are:- Injectors Wiring Loom - the rover one is much longer (by about 1m) and there are subtle differences in the connectors into the ECU. The Bracket between the AIRCON Compressor and the Alternator Bracket Alternator (Bigger than Rover) - I had to angle grind the bracket for the...
