id check that the bonnet stay prop isnt shorting on the live terminal on the battery when its closed ( seen it happen a few times meself now )

an ickle update after the messing about trying to get the skew gear back in i decided to take off the sump and remove the oil pump and the skew gear just dropped into the hole in the right position and the grub screw hole ligned up perfectly :D:D:D:D good job i removed the oil pump coz ive...

right to the OP heres yer cheapest n best shot at this find a used but complete bottom end ( dunt matter weather its diesel or petrol as the blocks are identical on the 10j 3 bearing engine then all you have to do is strip the bugger and either hone it out yourself or get an engineer to do...

yep and at this moment im belted right down going through absolutely evrything on this engine coz i heared how sweet it ran last time as appose to the time before with the knackered valves and tappets and what they cost me i dont want anything to #### up all that cash and time for the want...

im not talking bout the engines you have contact for im talking bout the ammount of twots there are selling **** as reconditioned units and my recon is almost there but im now back into the crank case just as a matter of curiousity more than anything as to what state the oil pump is in BTW...

its the same script with engines bought from the well known auction site they look reconditioned nice clean but alass theyre on a friggin pallet and cannot be seen or heared running and more than likely have not been reconditioned any booger can clean and repaint an engine then pass it...

from personal experience stay away from the mitsy L200 due to crank bearing problems ( if yer towing a lot ) dont bother with the navara coz theyre fekkin heckspensive to fix and when they go wrong they go wrong royally and as for the ranger the engine is basically a turboed transit banana...

exactly the point and case mate ..........and costs a fraction of what it would cost for a reconditioned engine :D all i need to do with mine now is get the bleddy skew gear set up right and pray the new bush ive machined for it doesnt fail :eek:
