Series 2 What 'original' Landy Engine can I use?

The one I fitted to my S3 I think looks the part and best of all it has a landrover badge on it...its an easy conversion. A 200di...came out of a S1 disco and originally had a turbo...but that not needed on a S2 or S3 and its kinder to the gearbox so I took it off and sold it.. On a run it...

    Towing capacity

I to am also class one driver...no doubt in my 50 years of series ownership...2.25d I have prob pulled just as heavy a load. I would never consider doing it on a motorway and never go faster than 40 and only in the dry... But if your confident and take your time and the rear x member is in...

    Considering converting S1 to TDI?

Dont think I would leave the turbo on...I have a 200 in my S3...broke my heart taking out the old 2.25d...been in it from new and I cover over 200.000miles with it...but it was finished... As I use my Landrover daily I needed an economical diesel...I had read about fitting a 200 as a DI on...

S3 overheating when driving. Normal when idling

    Inner tube size

Ditch the tube a go tubeless. I did it years ago on std rims...no drama tyre has never come of...so much better and far less chance of getting punchers. You need to buy 4 or 5 larger van type tubeless valves to fit in the rims...save a lot of weight as well. Pay no attention to thos who say oh...

    Compression test

If the heater plugs are working ok it should start. If it starts all is well...dont expect to much from a 2.25d...done 200.000miles with one with a full rebuild at 100.000mls.

    Compression test

23-1 cr that gives you 330psi then as the air will heat lots that will increase the pressure. Long time since I tested the comp on my old engine...my memory could be foggy.
