Does it only do it in certain rev ranges? If so, it may be worth getting thegarage to change the boost control solenoid. Seems to be a fairly common issue on the TD4.

I gnore me, 1&3 dont share! Just trying to remember what issue i had. Bad memory, 1&3 have the ballast packs on top, the springs inside sometimes don't sit on the plug properly. I had the same problem as you and pulled the boot off and corrected the spring just to keep me going.

Could you remove the injector, drop the piston to BDC, injector back on, use the starter motor to pop the tip out?

I'd also recommend changing the boost control solenoid if the engine loses power at higher rpm but drives fine at low rpm. It seems to be a common failure on the TD4 causing the exact symptoms you describe.
