Other what have u done on ur disco today

I checked the speed using a satnav. And alot of people here really do seem to like ****ing on other people (or maybe just a select few). The speedo correction has given me a usual error of roughly 2-3% error across the speedo range (for those who like to pick holes, up to 80mph) and as usual...

Other what have u done on ur disco today

I think people misunderstood what I said. I said I don't use a satnav in the vehicle and basically was saying that I wanted a speedometer that read correct.

Didn't think you legally had to have a working speedometer? I just did mine because when I used the vehicle, I don't use satnav as it's an off-road vehicle mainly. I use a car for most of the on the road use.

    Bad noise from front,

Have you tried disconnecting the prop shaft from front and rear and getting the speed up to 50mph? Diff lock might be useful too.

Other what have u done on ur disco today

Ah, thats only for the nanocom itself, the unit I built corrects the speed on the instrument cluster speedometer. 8000 pulses per mile 2.2222 pules per mph Take the pulses into a microcontroller and output the correct number of pulses to the speedo. 65 on the speedo was actually 70mph, but 65...

Disco 2 Three amigos and which diagnostic

As for Nanocom Vs Hawkeye Total. The hawkeye will do all landrovers now for £300. But the Nanocom will do things like coding keys, changing injector codes etc. But it is dedicated to Disco 2 and Defender TD5 only, for a hefty price tag of £350.

Disco 2 Three amigos and which diagnostic

I have Nanocom if you live near Southampton. And yes, I had the three amigos, I actually bought my nanocom, but it hadn't arrived when I used the iCarSoft and my mate just happened to be around with it. I don't know for certain that it will diagnose EVERY fault. But I haven't been able to...

Wont engage 3rd or reverse in high but will in low ratio?

Sounds like the synchros struggling to line up the gears for engaging. So the difference in rotation speed in low box compared to high box will make it easier for the gears to align and slide into place. Just my thoughts. Like others have said, try changing the oil first FOR THE CORRECT...

Disco 2 Three amigos and which diagnostic

It told us which sensors the issue was with (which was both rear sensors), it also said the voltage was low on them and that they had also gone open circuit. This was because I fit extension cables while the ignition was on. BUT I did need to reset the codes for the dash to clear. I'm sure it...

Disco 2 Three amigos and which diagnostic

A friend of mine read and reset all the ABS / SLABS codes in my Disco 2 yesterday using the handheld iCarSoft which you can purchase for about £150. He said that it does the entire Land Rover range.

    Disco 1 front windows opening

Sounds like the relay on the control board has welded in the closed position. Have you tried disconnecting the window switch from the centre console to rule this out?

Discovery 2 ABS Sensor Wire Extension

For anyone thats interested. These extensions fit perfectly and they definately allow you to reroute the cable down to the middle of the axle and along to the hub so there are zero worries about length.

Discovery 2 ABS Sensor Wire Extension

Its the shortest I could find. But i have found that its long enough to extend the rears down to the centre of the axle and along to the wheels. Which means there would be no issue with length what so ever then. (Not what I was really after, but its a good enough solution and future proofs...
