    Replacing thermostat

A thermostat is an easy job mate. £350? Pullin the wool mate. I have a 300 tdi so don’t know much bout td5 but it can’t be too different to change out. Identify where it is and drain off the coolant a bit then undo housing to access the thermostat. Replace and put back in after cleaning faces of...

    300tdi ticking

Bit of a long shot for you. My 300 was making a ticking kinda noise I couldn’t pin down. Took the belt off to start checking things and found a big chunk out of the belt. This was causing the noise. You’ve prob already checked your belt but just thought I’d say mate. ✌🏻

Land Rover 300tdi clutch not disengaging after engine out

You have described exactly the problem i had a few months back. I took the 90 into the yard and started...

    Galv Bulkhead

Hello pal. That does look a wee bit rough. You’ll need to spend a lot of time preparing that prior to painting but it’ll come round. I bought a shielder bulkhead and have to say I thought the quality was good and I did not need to make any changes to it for my 300tdi 90. Straight on and all...

    New chassis paint or not

I would still paint it. New galv chassis and a coupla layers of good quality paint is only going to be a good thing. Did mine that way. Backed up high impact areas with some stone chip and raptor in other places. Good luck.

I would just like to say

It’s the 80’s and early 90’s for me I suppose mid 90’s on didn’t like it much. 70’s for me was growing up in Rhodesia and it was a bit ropey if you were white. Place had a few problems to say the least, folks could see what was coming. It’s cold up here tonight so I says to my mum ‘ why did you...

Series just been run again on one of the freeview channels. I knew a lad who was a brickie and he was in a squad of lads who were multi trade and had worked as a team in Germany…he said the series was about right on with the experience they had. Always thought it was an interesting look at life...
