I have a similar problem at present, park facing the uphill and reluctant to start, facing downhill, no dramas, I know for a fact I have a pinhole leak in a fuel line and a bit of air gets in, got the pipe to replace it yesterday.
Now I'm heading out tomorrow- prob up into Surrey Hill and then down towards Haslemere, was considering taking the long way home via Chichester and the A27 for a couple of small lanes there. Now I know Byways are virtually non existent in W Sussex and I know of maybe 3 ORPAs near Chichester-...
Sucks dude, funnily enough I've always had to take 2 weeks off over xmas/new year which I find really irritating as I'd much rather take that holiday a bit later in the year. Not this year though, working all the way through save the bank holidays. And the Friday before new year.
Thanks Paul, yeah more or less everything I've read about Strata suggests that it can be hazardous if it's been v wet so I'll certainly take that into account, plenty of other lanes in the area to keep me occupied I'm sure if it does turn out to be bad.
So I'm heading up to mid Wales for a couple of days over new year with a mate of mine and our respective partners. We're planning on getting a day of laning in either the 30th or 31st while the girls go off to do something of their own. we go laning regularly locally with just the one vehicle...
Just a quick one, don't suppose anyone knows the outside diameter of the inlet hole on a cylindrical 300tdi airbox? or has one kicking around in a convenient place they can measure? I'm aware I'm being lazy but it'll save me going outside and dismantling things!
Not mine but a friend of a friend, posted to facebook this morning. Its a red Defender 90 van, she writes:

Wouldn't that cause whichever lamp to stop working though? Or would the increased resistance of a poor connection cause a similar fault without the lamps failing to flash?
Seem to have an odd (and intermittent) fault on my passenger side indicators- sometimes they work fine, sometimes they flash fast as if a lamp is out, however, all lamps seem to be functioning ok, functions ok off of the hazard switch too. Any clues?
So I'm going to replace my handbrake cable tomorrow evening, my local motor factor tells me there are two listed under my reg- 1150mm and 953mm, a bit of digging tells me the 953mm is LA953630 onwards, presumably 300tdi on. Now, my 90 is 200tdi but someone swapped in a 300tdi engine at some...
Dip/main as in the stalk on the side of the steering column? will have a look, I think they're supposed to be sealed but the rubber boot is a little tatty, one headlight got water in, the other was fine (both submerged,) well I've actually disconnected the plugs off the headlights rather than...
Next one. After my wading adventures my headlights are now on all the time even with ignition off, it's been several weeks now, I'm assuming water in somewhere is causing a short, what's the likely culprit- a relay somewhere? Headlight switch? Something else?
