Tried to finish the air con condenser fit and failed. Data say bash it and bend it with a big hammer, so that's tomorrow's plan. Bound to work, it's a Landy after all :) :eek:

Just to be clear Keith, you talking about bending pipe end further than it already is bent, or adjusting pipe block on condenser (assumed that isn't possible)?

The top pipe fits fine, just can't get straight on it with the bottom one.

It is the one from Island mate, V8, 94 to 02 :( definitely a build quality problem. Really don't want to send back if I can work around it :D

Why is it simple jobs can often turn out a pain in the arse. :mad: Bought new condenser, not the cheaper Britpart one, the Hella labelled one. First issue not too bad, spigot location hole in bottom Right corner not in correct location compared to bolt hole, so had to slot the hole in the...

On the styling front, whilst the P38 is old to my mind it still looks the part. The early 322's also look the business, but later models starting to take on the White Goods feel. LR have lost the plot on the new stuff. :(

Well I would have been fitting the new air con condenser this morning but as it's pashing it doon with rain I'll stay in bed :mad::D

Lots of P38 owners* on here would no doubt have a desire to get an L322. Me included. Who wouldn't want a newer model car? But the 'upgrade' just isn't big enough in terms of build quality, driving experience and cost (add a zero for most repairs). * Waldorf and Statler excluded ;)

As above from Mozz and Mart, needless to say, beware dealers, my 4.6 block failed in the first week, but with warranty end up with top hatted Thor which has been fault free for nearly 5 years. I'd try a diesel too, a good one 'should' be more reliable than the V8.

I could sort of understand it if we were talking about a retro fitted HID kit, have seen stories about wiper motors being knocked out, but in a factory setup?? Could a dodgy ballast be the route cause for a voltage spike?

Mate at work has just bought a 2009 Audi Q5 and the gearbox has gone. Fortunately for him under warranty, otherwise he'd be looking at thousands plus £110 an hour to fit. Takes them a week to do it. Like Data says, all these high end machines are heading for the scarp yard at 15 years old...

Ah, penny has dropped, slam panel off then take it out the top, many thanks chaps, saved me mucho grief :cool: new condenser should arrive today.

Thanks but mines a V8 and Rave says bumper off. Or is Rave over cooking it again?
