    That's a typical failure mode. When it cools it will start fine and probably continue ok until you stop and get heat soak off the engine.

    Heat wraps fine and works great. Be careful as it carcinogenic and sticks in the fingers to. It won't overheat the engine it may make the engine bay cooler and stop the wires cracking!

    Driving mymy aj xjs at 80 getting nearly 28mpg I'd suggest any issues aren't with the engine management or the gearbox simply with the design of the rover v8 at 4.6l. ( same engine management and gearbox albeit 2wd v4wd) The aj16 has 4 valves per cylinder (24 valves)

    Taking a set amount (.020 inch?) Is considered normal from the cylinder heads for a clean up. Rave shows where to measure the amount already taken off. Past this they don't recomend it.
