Disco 2 Front ARB Bushing bracket....HELP!

You may need to provide a photo for us to be sure of what you mean, but it should be "just" a matter of prising the relevant bit of the ARB forwards or backwards to get it lined up.

If you're that destructive, what about public transport instead - lol

Disco 2 New tyres.... lots of noise....

    I've got GG AT3s on our D2 & they're fairly quiet.

    Brakes

+1 on that. air compresses to give a soft pedal, it won't cause a pedal to creep to the floor.

Disco 2 Suggestions for replacement brake pipe

After you've bought the flaring tool & pipe, make a few practice flares on short lengths of pipe to get the hang of it before you commit to flaring the end of the pipe you've spent time bending round the various "obstacles" under the car & then cut to the optimum length. It's never good to wreck...

    Disco 2 Chassis

There's enough access space to weld all the way round the junction of the half chassis & alignment is easy using the existing front half ( actually more like 2/3 rds) & the rear body to chassis mounts. I agree that cost estimates for parts for both options look low. 1400mm chassis section is...

    Trimming D2 front springs

There's a 10mm steel & rubber packer / isolator used on the top of the front springs. It has rubber castellations on the inside that locate on the spring support on the chassis. If you grind the castellations off you can locate an extra isolator over the 1st. I've done it ours to fine tune ride...

Disco 2 Brake pedal going hard!

Check your rear brakes are working correctly. If they're not, your fronts will be doing far more work than they're designed for & will overheat. If your fronts needed overhauling, I'm sure the rears will too as they usually deteriorate faster.

    Disco 2 Insa turbo tyres

Should do - but beware the really extreme mud tyres eg Insa Turbo Extreme K2 & similar from other makes - as the tread is likely to be wider at the full tyre diameter , whereas more road biased / less extreme tyres are usually wider somewhere lower in the sidewall. As an aside, are you aware...

    Disco 2 Insa turbo tyres

What wheels have you got currently, are they suitable for 235 wide tyres ? If not, it might be cheaper to buy new wheels than spacers - although you only need spacers for the front. You won't need extended studs & you won't find much if any choice of spacer width - as far as I'm aware there are...

    Disco 2 Insa turbo tyres

I run the same size Special Tracks on our TD5 D2 for RTV trials. They will fit with a 2 inch lift and a winch bumper. However, unless you use spacers on the front or modular wheels with increased offset, you'll lose a lot of steering lock due to the larger diameter. If you use spacers or...

Viscous fan bearing TD 5 discovery

If your belt tensioner was working OK, removing ACE and fitting a shorter belt shouldn't change the "pull" on the viscous pulley bearing. It obviously seized to cause it to spin in the housing.

    Disco 2 Temp Gauge

I copied Sierafery's easy installation of an extra water temp gauge & have been very glad I did on a couple of occasions where faults have caused overheating that wasn't warned of by the standard gauge at all. If I remember correctly the standard gauge is controlled to display "Normal" when the...

    Disco 2 Air spring spacers?

I also found OME shocks too harsh & eventually changed. Adding an airbag spacer & then leaving the height settings unchanged to cause reduced pressure in the airbags is unlikely to make much difference to ride & will put the airbags into a condition they weren't designed for - especially over...

    Disco 2 Moving from 18" to 16"

With the 16s on the back the handling characteristics in a sudden lane change type manoeuvre would be dangerous - because the extra tyre sidewall height will allow the rear of the car to rotate around the front - a bit like oversteer. You'd start turning the steering wheel & the car would turn...

Changing a brake cable on my disco 3 electronic braking system

It's good that you're having a "go" yourself. However, do you mean "electric parking braking system" - as the braking system is hydraulic ?

    Wide steps ???

Not than I'm aware of. But why would you want them ? They'd have to be stronger & therefore heavier & would be at risk of hitting things when manouevring

    DISCO 1 WHEELS ON A DISCO 2?

Are you looking at 15inch tyres ? If not, as said, you can use 16 inch D2 / P38 wheels. Although there are no aftermarket 7inch wide D2 wheels, there are 8 inch & wider which all give quite a good choice of good off-road tyres.
