OK....for £124, I can get >THIS< tomorrow morning from my local Autosessive (formerly UNIPART). 115 Ah 1000A They list it as correct for the TD5 Disco...just hope it fits!

Actually, I was surprised at Eurocarparts. They seem to stock regular lead-acid types for mine - and are similar in price to the Yuasa one above. My problem is that I don't have time to wait. I am meant to using my Landy tomorrow morning to shift a trailer and my closest battery stockist is...

Hi folks It is pay day today - so I can finally buy a new battery. My old one is truly knackered. Halfords do a Calcium sealed type for £95 >HERE< It is for a Disco 2 TD5 Does anyone have any comments on it? It is handy for me, as Halfords is only a short walk from my house. Cheers Mark

My alternator is fine - I measure about 14v at fast idle at battery. The battery is however on its last legs - needs recharging every week. A current discharge test shows only 20ma drain. The battery has crusty deposits around caps where you can top up with distilled water. I have 3-amigos...

Hi all, Took my Disco to a local independent LR specialist today. Their diagnostic kit suggested it was the ABS shuttle valve casing the amigos. They replaced it for me with a new one. When I go to pick up the car as soon as I start it the 3-amigos are there! They hooked up the diagnostics...

I have wondered about that too. £200 from some suppliers - but only seems to have about £15 of low-tech materials. It is basically a very simple bit of kit that should be costing about £50 by my reckoning.

When I recently wanted the EKA code for mine, the local LR dealer wanted to see my V5 and photocopy my driving licence before handing it over. They did it for free though. The EKA they gave me is a combination of letters and numbers. I assumed it would just be numbers?

Had it hooked up to a proper diagnostic gizmo again today. The ECU was incorrectly programmed to think I had air suspension at the back. It left the factory with coils (still has them) so that is a mystery. He changed it back to coils setting for me - seemed to think that might cure the amigos...

Some good ideas there guys. I have to say that I find the oil extraction pump quite handy. No ramps, tools or tray needed.

I thought I would give my nice new TD5 Disco a quick oil and filter change - 10 minutes I thought. A quick drive around the block to warm up the oil - went underneath with a 17mm socket wrench. Removed the round plastic shroud insert....and of course the F*&^%$g sump plug had been rounded by a...

Well....my locking wheel nut problem is solved. Turns out the wheel nuts with the dimples just came off with a regular wheel brace. I bought some new (regular non-locking) nuts to replace them - and replaced a couple of others that had started to 'swell'. Everything was going so well - and then...
