    AT or MT?

I HAVE KUMHO KL71 ON MY 90 THEY ARE VERY LOUD ON THE ROAD. However, they look cool and do grip well. My 90 is used mainly for road and they are not to bad, if I were doing a lot of road mileage 12k or something I'd get AT2's again, I was with @mikescuba in Morocco and they were great, bit...

Disco 3 (LR3) Recommendation for code reader

Ok folks thanks for that, I'll read about these today. I assume with things like testing water temperature sensors etc its a multimeter? As an aside I have a slight cold running issue, the disco starts at say 0c, but will cut out unless I put my foot on the throttle a little and run it for a...

    300tdi stalling every few minutes

Hello, as James has suggested rather than replace everything test some of the parts 1st. Firstly (and this must be me being thick), what is the engine in the defender? I know for the 200tdi & 300tdi use manual lift pumps so to check your getting fuel into the system you can pump them manually...

    Coolant problems, 200tdi

I patched it and then put K seal in and since then all is good, as in its a few thousand miles between top ups now. I do have some block sealant but I've not needed it yet. The repair has been holding for over 5k miles now. It's really nice having a hot heater this winter as well.

    Coolant problems, 200tdi

Hi, Mine takes 4 miles to warm up to toasty with a normal rad and thermostat. My heater guage gues about 3/4 of the way across and before the black gap. When I had a duff thermostat the engine never got warm at all, only just moving off cold. If I slow down the temprature drops the...

    Discovery 3? Any good?

Hi, The oil pump cover I think was an issue from 2006 I'm not 100% sure it has not been done yet, but it will get done next belt change which I will do ahead of schedule. Can I ask how much the "gap iid diagnostic reader" cost and a link to it if possible I've been looking at a USA tool for...

    Discovery 3? Any good?

I just bought one with 78k on the clock 55 plate (now 82k) and I payed to much for it. But the air compressor, belts were done recently, the guy I bought it from agreed to fix whatever it needed before I got it, so he had to fit new windscreen, rear suspensions parts, front bearings. I knew...

    Fuel consumption

I fill my 90 200TDI up about every 360 miles (its 5% out so thats 342 miles) and it takes about 10 and a bit gallons, so that's about 34 ish. My mileage is mixed 60mph roads and country lanes. I think it amazing for a 27 year old car.

    "Sound proofing"

Thats clean!!!!! I did mine with that stuff and dodo matt then carpet. At 50mph the noise came down from 94db to 74db, it works. I do need to do the rear roof. I think my mud tyres, gaps and the fact its a defender cause most of the issues.

    Looking for a diagnosis

Wow that went! Mine had a garage replace the head gasket when my mate had Jo, it cost him just under 700. I replaced it again few months later when for the second time. The garage that replaced it had put the new gasket over some of the old gasket, not a lot, but enough for it to have...
