Very jealous. Had one of the sdv6 hse as courtesy car August last year. They are an absolutely fantastic piece of kit. The gearbox is superb as is the noise of that v6!
I had a feeling the gearbox may need changing or rebuilding. There was a fair bit of whine at higher speeds. Did ok though and I did change the front bearings but think the gubbins had worn a bit too. Sunroof still leak on the unsuspecting passenger?
Lift kit goes on the axle so won't lift the diff. Bigger wheels lift the axle up due to extra height
ARBs I would leave on if its an everyday car. You'll get some extra articulation with them off but how often do you plan to do extreme off road?
If your not carrying much, put medium duty in. It's a good compromise and I had them on my disco. Made it drive well and still soaked up some of the bumps. Was a bit stiff on the back end but I could fill it with people and it wouldn't sit down much. 7 lads in it and it would rub arches on the...
I have an old latch that I replaced from my disco. Was working fine then kept bouncing open. Seems to be in ok condition but it's been a year since I looked at it!
Disco mgw are 2700kgs. They are about 2100 kerb weight so unless your recovering biddies on their scooters then your not going to get much else.
Buy a trailer.
It was clean as a whistle. Interior was spot on. Used by one guy until I bought it. Passenger seat had more dog hairs on it than wear. Back seats were as new.
