Hi all im thinking of building a beaver tail recovery truck 4X6 drive with a transit tail iv been try to think of any reason why it cant be done but i cant so befor i build it what do you think.

Think the trouble would be that by the time you have built it you may only have the load carrying ability to recover a Fiat Cinquicento or a Smart car???

The problem with adding an axle is the extra weight of the axle and extra chassis and suspension to put it there, then add the flat bed on top you may end up with more than 1000lbs on your existing vehicle even with cutting the body back to pick up cab.

Not sure the Disco chassis would take it?

Although as a king cab spec lift I think it'd be great!!!
 
Disco mgw are 2700kgs. They are about 2100 kerb weight so unless your recovering biddies on their scooters then your not going to get much else.

Buy a trailer.
 
iv had iva test befor and there not to bad and i was hoping to increase the load to 6t if i can.
and i want to use a disco because no one has done it befor.

This might be a cheaper and better plan i will look in to it.
