Welcome, you know you want to keep it...

    LT230 hot and feeling resistance/drag...

First step could be to flush it through and fill it with clean EP90, see if it makes a difference. Possibly the old oil was a bit contaminated.

Rear Upper A Frame Joint Boot

Also it may seem a waste disposing of your old one but once the boot is open you won’t know if any grit has gotten into the joint. At least a new one will last a long time.

1986 TUL FFW Alternator (12v) belt

There should be two pulleys, the inner one being smaller. Also the alternator should adjust right in a fair way. Not ordered one for a long while, but I just get the standard civvy part number and it works fine on mine. Larger pulls should be for the FFR generator which if fitted is on the top...

    Hub wont go back on

From memory mine took some very very gentle taps (circular motion) from the rubber mallet to get it started, slotted on nicely once the first bit got on. It is a precise fit.

    Hello from Cambridgeshire

Welcome. There’s posts about good garages, and it depends which end of Cambs your in. I use a local garage who have loads of the owners landys sitting around. RJ Landrover’s in Sawtry has a very good reputation. Nene overland in Peterborough but may be pricey. Wicken 4wd bear Ely.

    Greasy drum

My studs are short for standard LWB wheels. I have Wolf wheels fitted with the higher wheel nut torque. Hubs are standard rear drum brake style. New seals and stub axles should fix any leaking issues, I’ve done all 4 corners now. Just watch which way round seals go in, I’ve done one wrong I’ll...

    Greasy drum

When I took mine off the rubber seal within the spacer was wrong, rotated 10deg or so. Looked like it’d happened last time it was put back together meaning every time I waded water must have got in and out of the bearings. Could be something as simple as this, suppose best thing is just to clean...

    Wolf?

Hi, it would also have ‘HD’ in its designation for ‘heavy duty’. Wolves are significantly different from the older TUL/TUM’s, including in price. Easy signs are 1998/99 manufacture, 300tdi with r380 box, defender seats, internal front roll cage, Donaldson air intakes on both wings (unless fitted...

    Totally dead evoque

Could it be an immobiliser fault? Sounds like it needs investigating by someone with laptop diagnostics.

2011 Defender 90 Slight Oil Leak

It depends which gasket. Mine leaks from the g-box to t-box oil seal, it runs down the box and drips off the bottom of the square plate. It’s an annoying drip but every time I check the level it never needs topping up. At 9 years old you may need to just accept Landrover’s leak, it’s just...

    2.5td smoke on start up

Sounds very much like normal to be honest. Blue smoke is oil, not a brilliant sign but a 19J engine is going to be fairly old now anyway. Could be a sign of a worn engine (valve stem seals, rings, bores), could be confirmed with a compression test. Like you say, it runs and drives as expected...

    Advice Needed - Defenders

Generally buy on condition, service history and signs it’s been well looked after. Heavily modified vehicles ‘may’ have been well used off road, generally your better looking for fairly original vehicles. Well cared for they should see well in excess of 250k miles, refurbished engines are...

    Advice Needed - Defenders

Modern auto boxes are smoother and better than manual boxes, including off-road. Not offering a manual will save Landrover money more than anything.

    Advice Needed - Defenders

I agree with Bankz. A 90 will fit 2 in the back OR luggage. They are fantastic as a second car or for when you may need to go a little further off road. A 110 is far more practical. It has literally twice the load/passenger space in the rear, and is essentially a small van when no seats are...

    110 rear refit - looking for ideas/inspiration

Yeah it’s an FFR, and I think the black stuff is the waterproof bag for the radio equipment. Waders and Winter Waders are very desirable, but most often have waded a few times from landing craft to a beach and back. I think that’s there primary use for wading. Winter ones may also have been...

    110 rear refit - looking for ideas/inspiration

No problem, mines same as yours a standard empty GS 110. I like the look of the draws but I occasionally Chuck people or items in the back which mean keeping it empty. There are other options; 1) get a radio table and modify it into a storage thing. 2) look at the utility landys, you can box off...
