For your budget you should be able to find a tidy L322 with jag engine on lpg. Cost per mile on fuel for the lpg 4.4 will be similar or better than the diesel. And much nicer to drive. If you are ever up north, you're welcome to a spin in mine.

Wouldn't worry about liners on an L322, that was the rover v8. BMW is timing chain tensioner and vanos seals. Jag is pretty bombproof as long as it's been regularly serviced Look at the rear arches and sills, from underneath they rot badly there. Open the lhs rear cubby in the boot and look...

I thought that the indicated mileage always showed the greater of what was stored in the cluster and becm. In other words, if you fit a 120k cluster to a 60k car then it would show 120k. Conversely, fitting a 120k becm to a car on 60k and the readout will also be 120k. Not sure how he could tell...

L322 Totally Random Complete Electrical Shutdown....

My dad had similar issue on his BMW 5 series many years ago. Fusible link buried in the engine bay loom with a dry joint on it. BMW had it in many times and never found it. Dad and I stripped back the loom on the off-chance of finding damaged cables and found the link. Re-soldered it and it...

Anyone in leicester with a nanocom please

Just to avoid confusion, you can't. I've just tried it. Engine disabled message on dash means you CANNOT disable eka and immobiliser. Once eka has been entered via door switches or nanocom then you can disable the eka and alarm. I've just videoed it to prove it whilst trying to get mine up...

    Engine ooot...

It will be as honest as I can be with it. Video (hopefully) of it running ok tomorrow. Basically free (cost of collection only) Did 40k in it without missing a beat. Only reason it was laid up is a multitude of minor, non engine related issues. Much the same way as my L322 is going!

    Engine ooot...

I'm going to chuck the battery on mine tomorrow and if it fires up OK, I'll get a video for Doo so if he wants to collect and do an engine swap he can.

    Engine ooot...

I'd have to check but I think it's just shy of 140k,the last 40k is mine. It had just had head gaskets done when I got it.

Mines a 4.0 and ran fine when I laid it up. Come and collect it for scrap money if you want it

Niggly eml lamp coming on which I suspect is an air leak somewhere on the inlet tract. If you reset the code you can drive 300 miles with no issue. If you start it from warm, 5 times out of 10,the eml will come on within 5 minutes. Been like that since I bought it. I've changed all the relevant...

Is it 4.0 or 4.6? Whole engine on mine was fine when parked up if you want to take a punt on swapping the motor into yours.

Or you buy mine for 1200 quid and spend 2k on sorting it. If you can spanner yourself, it's a good car for the price.

Yes, the reason I am doing this is to develop the new business which would mean that I don't have to spend 70% of my life abroad working. The plan is to be mainly office based eventually but we need to build cash reserves before we employ anyone. I WIIL NOT employ anyone unless I can 100%...

4k for a 97 p38 with 168k on the clock....... Run a mile! 4k will get you a reasonable L322. 6k will get you a really nice one.

I believe under the distance selling rules, you have the right to refuse if you are not happy with it but you would need to check first.
