Thanks for the input. I replaced my transfer case and gearbox. before it Was banging (in rear end I think) when backing up. On the day I was driving to the shop to replace Gearbox and TC the front wheel locked up and skidded on the road. Backed up and it unlocked. Would this be a Front diff...

Injection pump leak + Wynns stop engine leak

Even though this thread is old, I will put my opinion because I had a similar situation. I bought a used 300tdi and put it in my defender. Very shortly after getting it in and running the FiP started leaking. Rather than going for a rebuild my friend and I replaced the O ring on the (Throttle...

Changing timing belt whilst on engine stand, how should it be done?

Timing belt cover bolts are different lengths. As mentioned in another thread. Use cardboard to locate position of bolts, going from top clockwise etc.

    300tdi engine problems

Of all the info I read, there are two timing lines on the flywheel, got the correct one. I just did my timing belt and the kit i bought has a spring loaded pin that screws in, someone closer than me must be able to lend it to you. Try Paddocks. if cant borrow one.

    300tdi won't start - Please help me!!

My 300 tdi starts so fast you can't really hear the starter. That said if u have replaced the battery and it is still hard to start but cranking quickly, it must be as stated possible air leak, suggesting lack of fuel getting to the cylinders, or injectors not working properly either. The valves...

    Hot hot hot

It could also be the cable is not secure in the clip that pinches the cable....meaning cable moves instead of heater control lever.

    electric fans?

I felt uncomfortable without having a "real fan" initially but as I said it works as advertised. My old 2.5N/A d had overheating problems as the viscous fan failed, and went back to normal when replaced. I monitor the temperature constantly and have only had one spike, which I traced to low...
