Replaced the old girl with a 2012 Mondeo! Looking forward to not spending my weekends fixing her anymore! So the Disco will be up for sale shortly, shes been ultra reliable for the last 20K+ miles. I could say Ill be sad to see her go...but I dont think I will! Mark

Replaced both front hubs, last ones lasted exactly 12 months! New drive shaft oil seal fitted, cured weeping. Freed off caliper pins, needed a lot of heat on the caliper brackets for that. Deglazed front discs, by hand! Juddering bakes "warped disc syndrome" now cured! Found new track rod end...

Try and stick with it! If it looks like the original locations for the bulkhead etc are lost, see if you can find another forumite who has a similar rebuild in progress and visit them. You could either take dimensions from it or see if you can make an alignment jig/template taking reference...

I bought mine from Turners. Quality looked ok. Its done 20K miles since without any problems.

+1 on doing injector seals first! When the injectors are out you will be able to see if any of the pockets are cracked, but it wont be very obvious, just use a good torch and carefully look for a hairline crack. When my head cracked it put 6 litres of diesel in the sump before the combined...

Had my original head crack twice, 2nd time after it was repaired. They seem to crack at No1 injector pocket. You should be able to spot a leak by doing the following; Remove the cam/rocker cover, lots of small bolts but not difficult. Clean the area around each pocket, it should be pretty clean...

Ive never bothered finding the marked links. Do you have a any timing pins? If you want to make sure of your timing you can lock the flywheel with one pin, then check the camshaft pin will fit as well. If dont have pins you can just remove the plug on the bellhousing where the pin fits, then...
