I have read somewhere that people remove the wooly outer cover to let more air through? Anyone actually tried this?

I changed our TD4 with a kit last February due to failing its MOT with the bushes being completely shot LR items as Nodge states above are not cheap, think I ended up with some Brit part items Easy enough job to do though
