Freelander 1 1st service...are these the right bits

Hi Guys

Gonna order everything for a service as looks like oil definitely needs replacing

is this correct:

and can anyone advise the right socket/tool to remove sump plug please as not done my own service for a while as had cheap (free) mechanic but due to ill health he is doing less so i need to step up.
 
Don't forget the engine breather filter or cyclone mod and the turbo vent, both get ignored!!

Also, as it looks like a TD4 you are working on then you'll need about 7L of engine oil.
Check IRD and Diff oil while you are underneath.
Don't forget brake fluid every 2 years too!!

For the oil I've got 2 bottles in my basket so 10 litres

Cyclone mod??

Heard of the breather filter.. Crank case right?
 
Have a search on here, yes breather is the crankcase filter which can be changed to a BMW cyclone filter which doesn't need changing. There are mixed views on this mod. I have used it for many years with no problems.
The turbo vent is a small plastic filter hanging on the end of a pipe from turbo, one end is open to atmosphere. It is actually a fuel filter used for this purpose.

Well its arrived and looks good for my eyes so far

pollen filter
7 litres oil
oil filter
air filter
fuel filter
breather mod

and i fitted the pollen filter...old wasn't too bad but thought id replace as its my car now lol..pics of old and new

That pollen filter looks much better than the last one I removed, which was absolutely black, and wasn't the carbon version, so would have started out white.:eek:
