    110 Station Wagon 'expedition' project.

Cheers! It pulls out quite far, but obviously isnt too stable when all the way out, very good if only pulled out half way. It was a debate whether the draw should go on the bottom or the table. In the end we went table as you could still pull the draw out slightly and squeze your hand in if needed.

    110 Station Wagon 'expedition' project.

Well, first off, its not going to be a true expedition vehicle.... more of an 'adventure vehicle' (if it ever gets finished!).... but expedition sounds cooler.... When we bought the 110 in August it was visually in a poor state, having said that mechanically and structurally the previous owner...

    Suspension advice

Cheers all! I think I know what I am after now. Its all a bit confusing! There is almost too much choice out there with mixed reviews on everything. In the end this is what I have gone for: Front Left - NRC8044 (white/white) Front Right - NRC8045 (yellow/yellow) Rear Left - RKB101111...

    Suspension advice

I was looking at photos of those earlier, I dont think it does have one from when I have been pondering the meaning of life underneath... but then I was not looking for it. Mine is a 97 110 Station Wagon. So if mine dosent have the self leveler then is it still wise to put the softer springs on?

    Suspension advice

Cheers Tottot, I think that is pretty much the answer I was looking for. The lift is certainly out, the main reason I want a lift is because… well it’s a lift. But the negatives of a lift far outweigh the positives, for my intended use anyway. My main concern is that for every day use the HD...

    Starter Motor (Ignition wire?) Problem.

Just so you are aware, and for anyone else who has a similar problem – I have now managed to solve this issue. It was indeed the immobiliser. I hacked my way into the immobiliser (an epic saga in its own right of which I now have a permanent scar on my hand to show for it) and quickly spotted...

    Suspension advice

Advice needed, and yes I have used the search function before someone says it! I am having some welding work done on my 110 station wagon chassis which will require the springs and shocks to be removed, both are pretty cruddy and I can see in a year or so they will need replacing so I am getting...

    Starter Motor (Ignition wire?) Problem.

Its the factory immobiliser. I hear there are two types, one where the spider unit is buried in the dash, the other where its in the battery compartment. I honestly haven't looked (its Saturdays job!) but I have a feeling (well I am hoping) its in the battery compartment. the solenoid itself is...

    Starter Motor (Ignition wire?) Problem.

Yep and yep. Everything works fine, I even played around the other day and turned everything I could find one (lights, wipers, radio, etc.) and started easily. That was my thinking. The whole thing seems too closely related to be a coincidence. I spoke to the garage this morning and he didn't...

    Starter Motor (Ignition wire?) Problem.

Cheers for the help ladies and gents, a little update. I have cleaned and tightened the connection, and that seemed to work - well that problem has not re-occurred for a little while (touch wood) BUT a new problem has started and I have a little feeling it’s linked. So here goes, Volume 2...

    Starter Motor (Ignition wire?) Problem.

Ill try that cheers, I will also hold you to it when I break down on the way home tomorrow!! Never heard of that before, I was going to just use petroleum jelly.

    Starter Motor (Ignition wire?) Problem.

If its the switch, why do you think removing and replacing the wire make it work first time? Its one of those annoying problems that it will only ever do it at the worst possible moment and not under test conditions. I am hoping to stay away from the dash! It didn't end well last time I went...

    Starter Motor (Ignition wire?) Problem.

When we first bought the landrover (300tdi) the previous owner said that it has an intermittent starter motor issue and his solution is to turn it off, rock it back and forth and it will start up fine. I can honestly say I have never had an issue with it, until now.... It started last week...

What on earth am I doing...........

Ah cheers mate, I might have to take you up on that if things get desperate! I actually live near Evesham, but my folks are Shropshire based. 'Cotswold People' get a bit funny when you start doing manual work so I normally work at my parents - there is a lot more room and tools! I charge a...

What on earth am I doing...........

@Colthebrummie thats a really detailed list! Mine thankfully is not as long as yours... yet. My issue is a lot of things need inspecting and some thought put into what is best to do. Once I have done that I will have a better idea of what to do.

What on earth am I doing...........

Cheers for that. Similar thinking to me, so at least I know I am along the right lines! My thought was get it solid, that then gives me something to work with. I am quite happy that she is mechanically sound - all the belts were changed not so long ago, you can still read the date stamp on...

What on earth am I doing...........

No problem! Just venting! I will change the starter motor out when it becomes an issue, hopefully can get a few years out of it. to date its only failed on me once and that was partially my own fault doing something silly and stalling it - The previous owner just said wait a few seconds and/or...

What on earth am I doing...........

Purchased my first Green Oval the other week, it was great…. For about an hour until I realised I don’t have a clue what to do or where to start…. Should have bought a toy model of one instead. The first issue was the sender valve, the previous owner gave us half a talk of fuel so on the way...
